Introduction

ColorTokens offers a comprehensive lab environment - Xshield Lab, a versatile lab environment that swiftly simulates an enterprise ecosystem using Docker containers to demonstrate the Xshield platform's robust micro-segmentation capabilities. This isolated environment is tailored for product demonstrations, allowing potential customers to experience the features of Xshield without deploying any resources.

Key Features of Xshield Lab

Xshield Lab showcases a variety of segmentation scenarios, such as:

  • Server Segmentation
  • User Segmentation
  • OT (Operational Technology) Segmentation
  • Agentless Segmentation
  • Container Security
  • Crowdstrike Integration
  • Cloud Segmentation (Beta)

Utilizing Docker containers, Xshield Lab creates a realistic and segregated network environment. This setup enables users to illustrate how ColorTokens solutions enhance security for critical segments, simulating real-world conditions.

Deployment Options

The lab can be provisioned using two methods:

  • Deploying a pre-configured VM instance on the Azure cloud (recommended for its simplicity and ease of decommissioning post-demo).
  • Setting up in a private cloud or vSphere environment.

Refer to the Installation guide for Azure cloud setup or alternative environments. The Administration guide details the steps to deploy the demo lab and manage lab operations.

Control Component and Xshield Utility Tool

The control component of the lab, which orchestrates the demo environment, resides within the same VM and requires accurate Xshield tenant information to facilitate communication between Xshield agents and the tenant.

Additionally, the environment also exports the Xshield Utility tool, a command-line interface for interacting with the Xshield platform to execute operations related to micro-segmentation. Please check XshieldUtil section for CLI Utility Documentation.
